When you have a one or two line teaser for the start of an adventure, do you prefer to call it an Adventure Hook, a Plot Seed, an Adventure Seed, etc?

e.g. A travelling alchemist is using a local village as guinea pigs for his experiments by selling prototype potions on the cheap and then recording the results.

What other names do you have for these one liners and/or what do you prefer to call them?

Hooks are what makes the campaign important to the players.  Details like "you need to this or your hometown will be razed by orcs."

Seeds are the hints to larger things going on, like political arguments overheard in taverns.

There's also loose threads, which hint at other stories (sidequests) but can be chosen to be left alone, or the players can go back and "pull" on them later.  There's also the larger phenotypes of adventures, like "dungeon crawl, bug hunt, fetch quest, diplomatic foray, escort mission, mechanical puzzle, survival attempt."
