The XD20 System- The Best Thing to Happen to Roleplaying Games Since Dice.
There have been some rumors floating around about the XD20 system. I thought I would post a quick FAQ in the hopes it will clear some things up.
Q: What is XD20?
A: XD20 gaming system developed by Tracy and created to revolutionize if not just slightly alter the way role playing is done. The main point of it is that it makes gaming more fun for those of you who are more interested in playing a game than looking crap up in books. This means that XD20 is the perfect way to introduce new people to role playing.
Q: What systems, worlds, or storylines is the XD20 system good for?
A: From the book: “The XD20 role playing game system is designed to adapt to any genre of gaming. You can play generic space adventures, generic fantasy adventures, generic horror adventures, generic mystery adventures, generic romance adventures… not to mention clandestine adventures in any heavily trademarked and copyrighted story-world that may, by the wildest of coincidence, seem to model Star Wars-like or Lord of the Rings-like world to which you may or may not have paid a franchise fee.”
Q: My buddy played an XD20 game not long ago and he said he loved it cause it was so “fast”. What does that mean?
A: The reason XD20 games seem to be quicker than most other game systems is that the minutia of the lame has been removed and only sweet game stuff is left in. For example, you can role a new character complete with everything he needs to survive (rope, gear, spells and all… )in less than 50 seconds.
Q: How is that possible???
A: The reasons would take up more room and time than I have to explain… if only someone had written a book on the subject…
Q: Do you have to be an XDM to play XD20?
A: No, but the guy that runs the game should be. In fact, the guy that runs every game regardless of the system used should be an XDM… all other DM types are comparatively pointless.
Q: I’ve heard that this system is just like the (INSERT OTHER NOT AS COOL SYSTEM HERE)- is it?
A: At its core, XD20 is how Tracy has been running, and teaching RPGs most of his life… it’s the game system of a master.
Q: Where can I learn more about the XD20 system?
A: Like you don’t know. XDM
